Coffee with God: Acceptance

Coffee with God: Acceptance

This morning, Lord, I pray for peace of mind and heart.

I also pray for courage. Courage to advocate for my son when change is needed. To push for the right therapies and supports to help him grow.

And for wisdom. Wisdom to understand what is best for him and also to know when to let go. To know You are in control.

Finally, I pray for acceptance. Acceptance of those who think and see and feel the world differently. And that those who enter my son’s life may see him as You see him – beautifully and wonderfully made.

I pray this for him, for all the amazing children who have autism, and for their precious families.

In Your Holy Name, Amen.

The rest of the prayer is just as beautiful and holds the key to the serenity we all seek:
…Living one day at a time
Enjoying one moment at a time
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace
Taking as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is
Not as I would have it.
But trusting that you will make all things right
If I surrender to your will
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with you forever in the next.
